Coming Together

We provide a range of informal and formal opportunities to meet other LGBTQ+ families, including adult only nights out, events for older children and our new parents, toddler and baby meet ups.

Whilst COVID-19 restrictions have prevented us from meeting, the following groups have restarted:

  • Weekly New Parents Baby & Toddler Group

You can view our events on our events page, do pop us a message if you plan to attend so we can look out for you.

Anyone can start a meet up and the committee can help getting word out and even help apply for funding if your idea needs financial support.

A whole range of meet ups have taken place over the last few years including

  • Male parent & carer meet up
  • Workshops for older children
  • Donor & insemination workshop
  • Single parent meet up
  • Soft-play meet for under 5s

The easiest way to see if there is interest in your idea is to post on our Facebook Group or ask us to put a shoutout in our newsletter.

As a social network we all come together three times a year for our Big Events. These are opportunities for all Rainbow Families to come together, find out more about what we do and for our children to meet existing and new friends.

Brighton Pride

We enter the Parade and march together as LGBTQ+ families before all meeting in the park.

Brighton Pride is our opportunity to be visible as LGBTQ+ families and is a great source of pride and celebration for our children.

Annual Camping Trip

Every year between 60 and 80 families come together for our annual camping trip. Taking place in Sussex, so not too far from home for those that want to do day trips over the full camping experience, it is an opportunity to get to know other Brighton Rainbow Families. There are a range of activities for children (and adults) to get involved, or you can just chill out around a camp fire if you want to disconnect.

Christmas Party

Our Christmas Party normally takes place the first week of December and is our final event to come together, have a mini-disco party and review the year that has been, there’s even a visit from Santa and a small gift for the little ones.
