Rainbow Families is an
informal social group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents and their
children in Brighton and
Rainbow Families
have traditionally met on the first Sunday of each month. We plan to continue
monthly weekend meetings but the dates and venues may vary so please keep an
eye on the forum.
In October, thanks to a generous contribution of their time and expertise, Mayo Wynne Baxter will be
providing a legal seminar on LGBT parenting issues. Visit our What’s On page for more information.
As many of our children
are growing-up fast we are planning activities for the coming year with an aim
to cater for all ages of children ...watch this space. Details of the venue and
any changes to arrangements can be found on the Rainbow families forum (link
via the What's On page) or via the e-mail address and phone number (see
contacts)

One of the main
functions of the Rainbow Families committee volunteers is to secure and
administer funding to cover the groups running costs. This has taken the form
of grants, donations and running self funded activities. We have also recently
asked our members to make a donation towards running costs as future grant
applications will only be successful if we can demonstrate that we are
fundraising ourselves in some way. Please speak to one of the committee members
at the Sunday meetings for details on how you can contribute.
As part of our
fundraising efforts, we also have a cashback arrangement with Yellow Moon craft
materials. The new Spring catalogue is now online at www.yellowmoon.org.uk.
If you order anything, remember to quote our code so that we can claim the
cashback - it's WRA04197. Catalogues
will also be available at the Sunday meetings.
