About us

Rainbow Families is an informal social group for lesbian and gay parents and their children in Brighton and Hove and surrounding areas. We aim to create a friendly, inclusive space for our children to enjoy being with other children who have same-sex parents, whatever their origins. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to meeting new people.

Monthly Sunday meetings

Rainbow Families have traditionally met on the first Sunday of each month. We plan to continue monthly weekend meetings but the dates and venues may vary so please keep an eye on the forum.

As many of our children are growing-up fast we are planning activities for the coming year with an aim to cater for all ages of children ...watch this space. Funding

One of the main functions of the Rainbow Families committee volunteers is to secure and administer funding to cover the groups running costs. This has taken the form of grants, donations and running self funded activities. We have also recently asked our members to make a donation towards running costs as future grant applications will only be successful if we can demonstrate that we are fundraising ourselves in some way. Please speak to one of the committee members at the Sunday meetings for details on how you can contribute.

As part of our fundraising efforts, we also have a cashback arrangement with Yellow Moon craft materials.
