Hello and welcome to our website. If you haven’t heard of us
before let me tell you a bit about us and what we do…
Rainbow Families is an informal social group for lesbian, gay, bisexual
and transgender (LGBT) parents and their children in Brighton,
We aim to create a friendly, inclusive space for us and our children.
Some of our families are led by single parents or carers, some have two mums,
or two dads, or both, but whoever is included in the family everyone is welcome
and we look forward to meeting your family.
Some gay people who are thinking about having a family or are pregnant
can feel quite isolated so feel free to get in touch with us and we’ll
try and answer your questions or refer you to other organisations that may be
of help. We also have a very active Facebook
group - Brighton Rainbow Families 2011/2012 - which is a great
place to ask questions and meet members.
Meetings
We usually meet on the first Sunday of every month at a local softplay centre and also hold other ad hoc events like a
summer camping trip, a day out at Brighton Pride, summer picnics and a Christmas
party. Members also arrange coffee mornings and other catch ups on an informal
basis through our Facebook
group.
Rainbow
Families committee
The Rainbow Families committee meets regularly to organise events, activities
and secure funding. We’re always looking for new members. Drop us a line at info@rainbowfamilies.org.uk
if you would like to help out.
Social
events for parents
We also arrange informal gatherings for parents, so
keep an eye on our Facebook
group for details.
We look forward to hearing from you soon!
