About us

Rainbow Families is an informal social group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents and their children in Brighton and Hove and surrounding areas. We aim to create a friendly, inclusive space for our children to enjoy being with other children, whatever their origins. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to meeting new people.

Monthly Sunday meetings

Rainbow Families have traditionally met on the first Sunday of each month. We plan to continue monthly weekend meetings but the dates and venues may vary so please keep an eye on What’s On page, where we put details as they are organised. Committee Meetings and Grown-up Socials!

The Rainbow Families committee aims to meet regularly to organise events, meetings and activities. One of the main functions of the committee is to secure the funding that we need to keep our regular Sunday meetings going. We are currently looking for more people to come along to committee meetings, to share ideas and support the ongoing work of the group. Whilst our Sunday meetings offer a great opportunity for our children to run around and get to know each other, we understand that they don’t always provide a lot of time for the grown-ups to talk! The committee has recently started having evening meetings in pubs again, to provide another informal way to meet up with other parents. If you would like to come along to the next informal gathering, then email us at info@rainbowfamilies.org.uk to find out the date and place.
